Grain Extra - HESR Question
Posted by Alex on 2/7/2017, 11:08 am
Haven't been paying attention to rail activity thru Flushing for a bit, but Sunday night I caught what I thought should have been NB Coal extra in the distance, only to find it to be NB Grain Empties (I think), mostly covered hoppers with CN markings.
Now for much of my life AFAIK, CM / HESR Durand to Saginaw has mostly been mixed freight, DOW and Coal. Never seen a unit grain on these rails. Seemed like the vast majority of grain generated from beyond Saginaw went out via CSX.
Has HESR / CN been running unit grain trains for long in recent history? What elevator did these hoppers wind up at?
