He probably worked out of Hope yard (Dimondale/Millett, Mi.), off Mt. Hope, just west of lansing. What was on the side of the engine would have been a white GT. We have no Ford plants in Lansing, but the GTW switched GM plants # 1,2, 3 & 6 back then, & plant # 1 had there own yard for loading autoracks, with Hope yard as staging.
Now we have Corey yard, 2 1/2 miles west of Hope Yard, for the newest GM plant, with Hope as mostly a "remote" yard. Hope this helps.
