MRR good thinking. Pass it on to your local representative in the stete legislature and see what they think. ANd I don't mean that cynically either.
As for Electrolux and the rest? They had major tax abatements already in place when they packed up and moved out. Now some cities actually are trying to get this money back! (good for them too)
We paid for their sewers, roads, water and police/ fire protection with tax credits that we as taxpayers ended up paying for. The locals paid the price, they got the profits and left us without the jobs. Thats the way of the US capitalist...nay WORLD capitalist. Profits uber alles.
So it goes and it ain't coming back, especially when many support them by shopping WalMart, etc, etc.
Stopping before blood pressure peaks...
