I've never heard of any other Checker switcher but old hands may know differently.
If you go to Google or Microsoft maps you can probably get a birds eye view of the place and see how big it is.
In the Kalamazoo Gazette I read that a lot of effort was put into preserving Checker history and even going through the whole place with a video camera once it was clear it was closing. I forget who funded that. Unfortunately this kind of effort is the exception rather than the rule. I would have stopped and chatted with the guard but thought I would be viewed with too much suspicion. He did look pitiful walking back and forth next to his car in the middle of acres of desolation and not another human being in sight.
