For those interested, Metro Aluminum plant #2 in Chesterfield officially came on line this morning with L524 dispatched from Tunnel Yard to do the honors. 524 (GTW 4916) was working MA #1 in Mt. Clemens at 0430, and was then headed north to work MA #2 and PolyOne - also had to clear up for M386 and a very late running Q145. Not sure why, but another local was sent south out of PH a bit later this morning. One of the added benefits of working the new plant is that a 30 car local can clear up for road freights on the industrial spur if necessary, alleviating the need to head to New Haven or Mt. Clemens in order to do that.
Should be a busy day on the MTC - a large tamper and ballast regulator are out working in the sticks and a couple of extra trains are on call -that plus the regular traffic. Mow men and C&S men also plying the line today.
