Wait a week or two - then the view will be excellent till about late April. If you wander down toward the east end you might get lucky and see them flat switching the cars from Elkhart. I used to do this all the time when it was still done mornings between about 8 and 10 by NS B-1-G. After doing it several times, I tried to guess which cars would go on which tracks based on what industry I'd guess they were going to. I'm not sure when Grand Elk breaks down their cars from Elkhart these days.
