I watched as a semi tried to negotiate one of those humped-up crossings and about halfway thru, tore both his metal standup pads off the trailer.
I didn't feel to bad for the trucker as he didn't even slow down to watch how it went but my main concern was for throwing the track out of alignment. After he stopped, picked up his loose pieces, and then went on, I went back to the crossing and checked the alignment. It didn't appear to have moved a bit even tho there were heavy grooves thru the asphalt and the head of the rail.
This probably happens more than we know.
