CK&S South of Kalamazoo - Photos from today - Question

I took a tour of the CK&S line from Pavilion to Kilgore today. At P Avenue there is a very new/modern flasher signal installed. Either there was a bad accident at that crossing recently, or I think CN foresees continued business for the line after Grand Elk takes over.
