. . . . at the Cadillac Fall Color Steam Limited excursion.
Entering the City Limits of Cadillac along Paluster Street with Nickel Plate Road No. 765 leading.
I don't know what this driver was think'in!
Who ever it was, the motorist drove their vehicle in reverse across the 3rd Ave crossing in Cadillac as NKP 765 approached with'in distance.
Engineer of NKP 765 pulling on the whistle, alerting motorist at the Wright Street crossing in Cadillac.
NKP 765 switching the FWRHS and SRI's tool cars to the other end of the train while a crew member shovels coal down the tender.
Greasing the rails of the wye for NKP 765.
NKP 765 backing towards the wye.
Continuing to grease the rails of the wye while NKP 765 creeps slowly behind.
As storm clouds approach in the distance, Pere Marquette No. 1225 and Nickel Plate Road No. 765 make storm clouds of their own as they lead the double header excursion out of Cadillac for Alma.
From Cadillac, I headed towards Farwell to meet the train but instead met a rain storm instead. Following the storm, a double rainbow appeared near the tracks but no train (no pot of gold either).
With darkness approaching and double rainbow gone, I left Farwell for Clare, hoping for better light. With'in minutes later, the double header excursion appeared (thanks to the other photographers in the photo line for their camera's flashes all going off at the same time).
With no plans on photographing the train south of Clare due to darkness, I proceeded to Mt. Pleasant for dinner (the detour off Mission Road and Baseline Road was awful) but upon my arrival, the train had not passed through. So I attempted for one more shot of the train in a night photo scene. Below, PM 1225 passes the station platform of Mountain Town Station.
NKP 765 coming into view.
As cold as it was during the day, I was surprised to see a few of the windows open in the Ohio Central open-window coaches.
The End!
Hope you enjoyed!
