The last few days must have been the time for out of state rail faning.
My buddy, MOW Pual and myself left out of SE Michigan at about 7 AM Wen. We started out in Delray, then headed south to Toledo on Dixie HWY. We didn't see a train until we got to the Ann Arbor Yard. Then we saw a few CSX on the line just to the east of the AA yard. We spent the first part of the day in East Toledo looking around, seeing many trains. Towards the end of the day we went to Holland, OH and checked into the Econo Lodge near the NS (CR) main. Nice place for the price, and the view of the track were real good too. There we met a fellow rail fan, Jack from Grand Rapids, MI for the first time. Jack reads the board, so here is a shout out to Jack! Hey Jack! It started out slow in Holland, but by midnight the line had a train on it, going by about every 3 minutes! That line is hopping at night.
The next day we checked out of the motel and headed to Waterville, OH. There we rode the Toledo Lake Erie & Western. That was a nice little trip. After that we hit Deshler, OH. Busy, busy! Trains about every 5 minutes. Then from there we hit Fosteria, OH where we met some other rail fans from the western Michigan area. If you have been to Fosteria then I dont have to tell you about seeing trains, they were every where!
We hung out here til about 10 PM and then headed back home. All in all it was a great trip. We saw at least 100+ trains.the
