1. The class list for 2012 should be finalized over this weekend. Look for it next week.
2. The show manager will have a time for Saturday check-ins. I'm not sure what it is right now - when I know, I can post that. We will be discussing some of these things on Sunday.
3. You should double check APHA rules on bits for various classes. Here is my *interpretation*: a snaffle can be used in WP on horses 5 and under, to be ridden with 2 hands, and must be free of any shanks or other method of providing leverage.
A Tom Thumb bit is jointed like a snaffle, but has shanks to provide leverage, so this would be considered a curb bit in WP, and you would have to ride with the reins in one hand.
