Both of my parents worked at the State Hospital for many years, and my mother worked in the community programs that helped the former patients after they were de-institutionalized. She received state awards and recognition for her years of service, etc. If you would like to speak with her, please contact me and I will talk with her. Even though I am biased as she is my Mom, I know she is an interesting part of Northampton's history and has been approached by others to do her life's story (she declined because she said she was too young). Thank you.
