Hi Tom,
I have a pair of snakes that I need to find a good home for. I live in Philly, but in a month I am moving to Miami for medical school and I can't take them with me. Here's the info:
They are ball pythons, fully grown at about 3'7''. They are both male (brothers actually) and I've had them since they were 3 weeks. Now they are about 6.5 years old. They eat frozen rats that I thaw and I've never had any problems getting them to feed or with regurgitation of a meal. One of them started hibernating for the first time this year and he fasted from about November until late May, but I've read that that is completely normal for adult male ball pythons. They have also never been sick or had any parasites. As far as temperament goes they are very easy going and sweet; they are also used to being handled. They are perfectly content to curl up around your arm, but if you put them down they do like to explore their environment.
Of course they would be free with their whole set up. I have a glass terrarium with sliding screen lids that lock in place by a pin (they have never gotten out). I have two lamps with timers for the day/night lights. Also, they have a hideout, huge water bowl, and some branches to climb on/sleep under. I try to spray the terrarium with water for a couple days before they shed and they've always shed in 1 piece. I also have a pair of feeding tongs.
Please let me know if you are interested or if you know of anyone who is. My email is sms244@cornell.edu and my cell is 607-279-3777.
Thanks!
Sara
