I live in the Harrisburg area and know of a few places in the local area where timber rattlers are frequently sighted. I have always been intrigued by snakes of all types and want to go look for some rattlers. First, know that I have NO intentions of harming or even handling them. I just want to find them and watch and video and/or photo them in their natural environment. I have read what I can online about them and have gone out a few times to search the areas that I thought matched descriptions of their habitat but have been unable to locate any. Could somebody with experience finding these awesome critters give me some expert advice on how to locate them? I want to know all that I can about finding them i.e. various habitats, best time of day to search, best weather conditions, etc. I want to know it all. Any advice or recommended publications to enhance my knowledge will be greatly appreciated. I'm also interested in copperheads. Thanks in advance for any responses. Contact me at nra2877@yahoo.com.
