Hola all you expatriate patriots,
T G I F !!! Yahoo!!! Yippee!!! Hooray!!! It didn't matter if it was school or that paycheck, Friday was the day when the week was almost over and a glorious weekend was just around the corner...I haven't lifted a finger workwise since before 1999 but I still appreciate a weekend...Maybe if I could of figured out what I wanted to be in life, weekends wouldn't have been as important...Just couldn't make a living playing a ukelele and singin' 'Has Anybody Seen My Gal' and 'Ain't She Sweet'...Sigh...
I've stripped the beds, have the wash already on the clothesline and have serviced ChaChi's and little Luke's service centers and basically have the casa ready for the housekeeper...Lord help us if the cleaning lady should catch us with a casa in disarray...Heavens to Betsy*...Mustn't have that...(*The etymologist Charles Earle Funk published Heavens to Betsy! and other curious sayings in 1955. In that he ventured the opinion that the origins of 'Heavens to Betsy' were "completely unsolvable".) Why Heavens to Betsy, how about that???
Yesterday Alice and I figured out that we had drifted too far to the right as far as comida was concerned so we decided to recenter ourselves and go to an old-fashioned Mexican place where the locals meet to eat and 'Antojitos Mexicanos' on Eulogio P. #223, fracc: San Antonio, tele: 213-21-45, was the establishment of choice and, boy, was it a winner...Leonor has herself quite a buzzin' business complete with locals bringing their large containers in a steady stream of Posole takeouters as well as a quaint room full of those who obviously come to meet and eat daily...The first person that greets you can be defined as a walking ray of smiling sunshine and she brings along some marinated sliced carrots and onions as well as tostada size chips and a tasty red salsa...Next came orders of tacos de pollo (4) and chicken and pork enchiladas (4) that were super fresh and cooked to a queen's turn*...(*to be cooked for exactly the right amount of time)...This was accompanied by beverages that were brought with plenty of ice, as we gringos like them, and then we finished this day's delightful culinary repast with a limon pie that was mighty tasty with a touch of that 'Key Lime' flavor...What a wonderful experience and refresher course on why we came here in the first place...Viva Tepic!!! Viva Nayarit!!! Viva Mexico!!!
Well, moving right along, I guess I've said about all that needs to be said today and so, if you'll excuse me', I'll start putting the finishing touches on my efforts to be personally exceptable out in the real world...Let us first wish you another round of bluebirds and love...In other words, "Have a great day"!!! Maybe I'll see ya at Vip's??? Hope so!!!
Cheerio,
Cliffardo
