Hola all you expatriate patriots,
It's matinee day so try and find a good western to watch and let the nostalgia take over...Can taste that hot buttered popcorn and those Milk Duds as we speak...I was a Roy Rogers fan as opposed to those who were Gene Autry fans...Loved those Donald Duck cartoons also...I also enjoyed the likes of Lash Larue and Wild Bill Elliot...65 years ago I would have been counting my hard-earned nickles and dimes so see just how many items I could get at the candy counter...My rich Aunt Nen was responsible for my being able to sit in the rocking chair loges occasionally...She was throwing parties all the time so there were nickle return bottles by the wagon load for me to take to Black's market...Aunt Nen had a beautiful Steinway concert grand piano in her home and she would occasionally have pianists like Van Cliburn over to spice up her parties...

Bless Aunt Nen...
I am up and have already put a large wash on the clothesline and have also made myself somewhat presentable in case anybody cares...ChaChi is off her Bactrim now so hopefully she will stop hiding from me and the relentless syringe full of antibiotic...My poor little furball just doesn't understand what's happening...
Yesterday Alice and I went over to Venecia for another round of their delicious Italian food complete with sliced baguette along with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dippin', bruchetta, chicken picatta and pesto penne pasta...Always a delightful culinary experience...On the way home we stopped at the Thrifty Ice Cream store and had their wonderful chocolate brownie and rocky road ice cream for our dessert...Sometimes simple perfection is what it's all about...
I guess I'd better keep my eye on the ball as this eventually is leading up to my daily escape over to the local coffee house, namely Vip's...Oh, before I forget, did you catch Leno's last Tonight Show last night??? I taped it for Alice as I was watching fishing shows as that comes first in my book, especially since a lot of the shows on the Outdoor Channel were dealing with flyfishing for trout up in Alaska...Since my mother was born in Nome, Alaska in 1911, I have a lot of sourdough in me...My sourdough grandfather bought me my first split-bamboo trout rod when I had just turned four and I caught my first trout (an Eastern Brook) on Forest Creek soon after...To this day I remember that this beauty fell off the hook right in front of me and started flopping towards deeper water and I hopped in the creek and scooped him back up on the bank...Grandfather was watching me and decided right then and there that I was going to be a good trout fisherman...I am a good trout fisherman and have never been skunked ever and have always limited out fishing small streams...
I hope that you have a great day today and I'll talk to ye later lads and lassies, wherever thee may be...
Cheerio,
Cliftonardo
