Cruising down the river on a Sunday afternoon
With one you love the sun above waiting for the moon
The old accordion playing a sentimental tune
Cruising down the river on a Sunday afternoon
The birds above all sing of love, a gentle sweet refrain
The winds around all make a sound like softly falling rain
The two of us together will plan our honeymoon
Cruising down the river on a Sunday afternoon...
Hola all ye who love life SOTB,
I hope this fine day finds all you amigos as fit as a fiddle and ready for love...I personally never did get the hang of a fiddle but I have been known to fiddle with a mandolin and a banjo and a ukelele...I don't have to get ready for love as it's always been with me since about the first time I invited Alice out for a walk and talk going on 36 years ago now...Speaking about Alice, she is out for her daily walk-a-bout and I was left with straightening up the bed but that's Ok with me as ever since my mother wouldn't let me go out and play before making my bed, with hospital corners no less, I am a licensed and certified bed maker, board certified...Once upon a mattress, I sold Serta, Sealy and Simmons mattresses for a living...I know more about 4-way hand tied Serta box-springs than you do...JaJaHaHa...What a resume!!!
I have done my share of the Sunday chores and ChaChi and little Luke have given their stamp of approval to the way I straightened up their service stations...I worked at a Mobilgas service station once...Talk about service...I could fill your car with gas, wash your windshields, check your water and oil and check the air pressure in all 4 tires before you could get back from the restrooms...I was rescued from this 'going to nowhere' job by a federal man who hired me as a geodetic survey rod-man...My first federal checks until I sold my body and soul to the Air Force for 8 years in 1955...Little did I know about so little then when I was like a rock, standing tall and straight... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keIvA2wSPZc&feature=related
Yesterday Alice and I went over to Chili's for breakfast and I was going to have their hot-cake laden 'feast' but they threw me a curve as they were without maple syrup so I had to settle for a chicken taco dish like Alice likes with potatoes and Jimmie Dean type sausage...Sure missed my hot-cakes...I think I'll start carrying around an assortment of condiments in my trunk...
Gotta run now as I'm a tad late for my coffee at Vip's and we can't have that...Have a good one all...
Cheerio,
Cliffardo
