I would be interested in your recommendations for locating in a small pueblo(within 1-2 hours of GDL and beach) for an old man to sit and listen to the birds sing and absorb the "mexican way of life". I want to rent a casita for the better part of a year(to learn about the seasons) and explore what is available for purchase and permanent residence. I will have limited means of income(I am Poor) but expect to enjoy my tarnished golden years somewhere where the news is not the most important topic. I also want to learn to play the guitar(to amuse myself) and to improve on my basic spanish. I am not destined for living in the big cities nor do I want to live in a gringo compound... I want my next door vecinos to speak spanish and to be agradable(sp?). Over the next 17 months I will be clearing out my house and selling my "junk", getting positioned for the big move. In the meantime I anticipate making many visits to find the initial landing spot for me and my dog. I have a palapa in Baja which is for sale, as BCS has become too crowded and expensive to consider for permanent residency. And I want to be removed from immediate hurricane problems. What can you suggest??????
