Hola Alice - Thank you for responding so quickly!
First - thank you for the info about the CD/DVD players - this is the type of thing we need to know. I have read your permanent messages - VERY informing.
Our "elderly children" have passed, but we are now blessed with two wonderful, adorable, loving Goldens that are 1-1/2 years old - Beau & Mysty. Can't imagine going anywhere without them! I do know about the vet certs & all.
Our goal is to be in Tepic by Christmas of this year (or earlier) but we still have a LOT to do. We have no idea (yet) where we will be living. The plan is: 1)sell as much "stuff" (that can be translated as junk)as we can; Put all "necessary stuff" in storage with someone like Redball that will ship SOTB; drive down with the babies and check things out - when we find a place, have the storage stuff shipped to us. We chose Tepic after some research. We originally wanted to move to Italy, but can't afford it with the Euro. We looked at Belize ( too swampy). We looked into Merida, but I really don't want the Gulf coast; We also looked into the Ajijic area but figured out there were way too many gringos there-we want to live in Mexico, not an American village that happens to be located in Mexico. Wolf actually lived in El Potosi (not the city, but the Indian village near Monterrey). When we looked into Tepic, it seems perfect-weather, humidity, sunshine! Oh - another questions - is it better to rent or to buy a home? Are there long-term (3-5 year) home rentals available in the area?
