Hola all you expatriate patriots,
'Tis a new day and a beautiful one at that...Wall to wall blue sky for the first time in a week and, boy, is it a welcome sight...I'm already tired of the rain and ready for a few blue skies lookin' at me...I am up running on ethel and ready for a few cups of coffee over at Vip's...Yesterday Alice asked me if I ever thought about about having my morning coffee anyplace else but Vip's and my response was that as long as they continue to give me a smile and a halfway decent cuppa the black elixir, I am a customer for life...Heck, if I'd never grown up, I would be over at Chet's garage in Linden right now talking hot-rod talk and drinking warmed up coffee held over from yesterday and still gonna be there manana...The old custom of holding a little starter over from the day before??? Grandfather did that when he was cookin' sourdough pancakes for us up at the cabin!!! I am a very loyal customer 'til death do us part...I also have the memory that doesn't forgive and forget easily either if you do me wrong, intentionally that is...Once I don't like something or someone, that usually lasts for a long, long time...I figure that once a bum, always a bum regardless of what one might say at the moment...There is too much good hereabouts to waste time peeling sour grapes...
Yesterday Alice and I went on over to Estancia and enjoyed another of their wonderful offerings at the best darned brunch buffet anywhere in this town...Sure do love those hotcakes...Alice takes the high road lined with silver domes whilst I just look for those old tried and true all-american breakfast offerings, coffee, fresh fruit, some dough based sweet stuff, eggs over, bacon and hotcakes all washed down by orange juice, freshly squeezed, and coffee served hot and often...I believe in as many refills as I want without question...The loyal customer always returns to the scene of his culinary crimes of gluttony...
Gotta run as I can't lose my favorite Vip's booth as mine has the best view of the Walmart parking lot...JaJaJaHaHaHa...I also have some clothes to hang unless Alice has beaten me to it...Have a good one...Oops, while I was talking, Alice has sneaked out and she has the clothes up and a flappin' in the breeze...Thanks dear!!!
Cheers,
Cliffardo
