Hola all you expatriate patriots,
This is a great time of the year here and it's as welcome as the flowers will be in May...I even have a short-sleeve shirt on today which certainly means that a new season is upon us and that's just fine with me...The days of open windows and cool breezes...Yippee!!!
I met with Bob and Jan from Missouri yesterday at Vip's and we had a great time getting acquainted...They are seriously considering making Tepic their retirement home away from home in the 'show me' state...Nice folks and a welcome addition to Tepiclandia I might add...I promised that I would give then a link to a good mail forwarding place stateside so here comes the link:
http://www.mailforwardingnevada.com/
Yesterday Alice and I went to Burger King for our comida and, as usual, I went the traditional route with a double Whopper Combo with bacon and cheese and an order of onion rings while Alice went with a grilled chicken sandwich combo on a bun with appropriate salsas for that alien arrangement...I say alien as having anything but a burger at a burger place is weird as far as this traditionalist is concerned...Like going to the Prime Rib Inn for duck!!! Couldn't eat a duck anymore anyway...Time was when I went duck hunting with my trusty Winchester 12 gauge but youth was responsible for many odd recreations whilst in the 'growing up' period...Anyway, I love hamburgers so I love Burger King!!! Not the best burgers but, as we say, "they're all good, it's just that some are better than others"...
I must go now and hang up the daily wash and then wipe off the car and then make my pilgrimage over to Vip's so that I might get jump-started in that good ole 'all-american' way...I know we don't have a corner on this time honored tradition and each country does it a little different but I learned it the 'yankee doodle dandy' way...Campfire coffee in a tin pot, grounds and all...When you were suitin' up for a 2.5 mile trek to a virgin trout stream, this brew tasted like heaven on earth, even though Grandfather made me mix this elixir with some Pet Milk from a can plus a little sugar at first...To this 5yr old, it meant I was a man, short but a man nevertheless...
Cheerio and adios,
Cliffardo
