"Here Comes Peter Cottontail"
Here comes Peter Cottontail
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Hippity hoppity,
Easter's on its way
Bringin' ev'ry girl and boy
A basketful of Easter joy
Things to make your Easter
Bright and gay
He's got jelly beans for Tommy
Colored eggs for sister Sue
There's an orchid for your mommy
And an Easter bonnet too. Oh!
Here' comes Peter Cottontail
Hoppin' down the bunny trail
Hippity hoppity
Happy Easter Day
Look at him hop and listen to him say,
"Try to do the things you should"
Maybe if you're extra good
He'll roll lots of Easter eggs your way
You'll wake up on Easter morning
And you'll know that he was there
When you find those choc'late bunnies That he's hiding ev’rywhere, Oh!
Here' comes Peter Cottontail
Hoppin' down the bunny trail
Hippity hoppity
Happy Easter Day.
Hola all ye lovers of the ole Easter parades and picnics,
Do you ladies have on your Easter bonnets with all the frills upon it??? The Easter bunny always came to our house and left baskets full of colored eggs and chocolate marshmallow bunnies behind every door inside our home when I was a wee broth of a lad...The colored eggs were amazingly similiar to those that I had helped mom make the day before...I can taste the fried chicken and the macaroni salads and potato salads and deviled eggs and sweet pickles and Virginia ham slices and Birely's Orange and Nehi Grape sodas (iced cold and just waiting to cool us off) that were all part of the annual Easter family picnic always held at Jenny Lind where Grandfather Folsom had one of his many mining claims...The good, good, good ole days??? You betcha Lone Ranger, you betcha!!!
Yesterday Alice and I set off to have our usual Saturday brunch at Estancia only to find out that they were closed for four days starting Thursday...Undaunted, we went over to the LaLoma Hotel and had a delightful time and breakfast and had an added extra bonus by running into dear old friends Jim and Ann (Anne???) from Mazatlan who had come down to Tepic to escape the holiday crunch around their casa in Maz and we all had a wonderful round-robin of conversation while polishing off a very good meal as well...As it turned out, Estancia did us a favor by being closed...We sat out beside the pool and talked and talked and talked just as if we were on an Easter picnic ourselves...What fun!!!
Anywho, have a bonnie Easter folks and I will talk to ya later...I'm going back to bed now for awhile before I get up and go over to Vip's for my coffee break and then El Globo for some sweets designed to bring back that ole feeling...
Cheerio for now,
Cliffardo
