Cruising down the river on a Sunday afternoon
With one you love, the sun above waiting for the moon
The old accordian playing a sentimental tune
Cruising down the river on a Sunday afternoon
The birds above all sing of love, a gentle sweet refrain
The winds around all make a sound like softly falling rain
Just two of us together, we'll plan a honeymoon
Cruising down the river on a Sunday afternoon...
Hola all you members of the Inner Circle Of Adventurers, Wayfarers and Wanderers,
As the whole town slowly disappears for this Semana Santa week, we are going to hold down the fort as we are in no hurry to mingle with the thong throngs...We will be heading to Puerta Vallarta next month after Pascua and everyone returns back to Tepiclandia...I would not like being a sardine in a can and that's what all the beaches will look like for the next two weeks...
Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above,
Don't fence me in.
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love,
Don't fence me in.
Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze,
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees,
Send me off forever but I ask you please,
Don't fence me in...
It's not that I'm anti-social, just don't want to share my towel with strangers, that's all...
We have a short load a washin' here at Casa Anderson and I have once again mowed the stubblefields with Mr. Schick and am half-dressed and on my way to making this another nice day, olay!!! Yesterday Alice and I went over to Estancia for their super Saturday buffet and, once again, Alice took the high road and went silver domed chafing dish to silver domed chafing dish filled with traditional mexican food whilst I took the low road and went traditional gringo starting with fruit and ending with a mile-high stack of hotcakes with some juice, coffee, sweets, eggs and bacon interspersed in-between...Oh how I love freshly made hotcakes with a full patty of butter placed between each one and covered with Log Cabin syrup!!!
I shall soon be over to Vip's for my coffee and then I shall go over to El Globo to pick up a croissant and an apple turnover and then I shall return to my little ranchita in the sky for another day of looking for good westerns and maybe some fishin' with the likes of Bill Dance, Roland Martin and Jimmie Houston!!! Ain't like a hoot???
Adios all you pardners and pilgrims,
Cliffardo
