Correction - the bank trust is less than $500 US, taxes less than $50 US. Sorry for the typo.
Not all the homes in San Blas were severly damaged by Hurricane Kenna. An account clerk in the local Bancomer is from San Blas. He said his family's home is about 5 blocks from the ocean and was not damaged.
Cuyler, it seems like you have a real prejudice against life on the coast, possibly fueled by misinformation. I say, live you where like, there are risks and downsides everywhere. Speak truthfully of the good and bad sides of your chosen home, no need to detract from other places unless you have lived there and have valid experiences.
