You must be talking about the critter we hope to elect as our State Bird. You see, they keep the big developers out of San Blas area from putting up concret jungle high rise condos on the beach!
Bless the Huehuene! Actually they frequent from about the middle of Matenchen Bay north most of the way up towards Mazatlan. They come out in the early morning hours until around 10:00 AM (usually) and again start back out around 4:00 PM. If you around the beach at that time just ask the local Palapa people to give you a "bote de fumo" = a bucket of smoke, which is a coconut husk lit on fire and then put out. The Huehuene don't like the smoke.
