Cruising down the river on a Sunday afternoon
With one you love, the sun above waiting for the moon
The old accordian playing a sentimental tune
Cruising down the river on a Sunday afternoon
The birds above all sing of love, a gentle sweet refrain
The winds around all make a sound like softly falling rain
Just two of us together, we'll plan a honeymoon
Cruising down the river on a Sunday afternoon...
Hola all you football fanatics SOTB and stateside as well,
Another super Sunday, another super funday!!! To you who live east of the Mississippi, I guess this could be a special tailgate day what with New York and New England sluggin' it out for that big diamond ring...I used to get excited myself when my Raiders and 49ers were rulin' the roost...Now a game like today is a 'Ho Hum' excuse for overeating...I guess, if there is a reason for watchin', it will be to see if New England can nail the unbeaten 1972 Dolphin's mouths shut once and for all as, if they win, they will be the only team ever to finish with 19 victories and no defeats...Miami's 1972 perfect record will slip into the paltry '17 victories and no defeats' category to be soon forgotten except for those as old as you and me who tend to remember old shoes and Larry Csonka...
Today is the day when I return to Mandarin Comida China and pick up our comida at 12:30pm...Not exactly super bowl 'junk food' but I love good chinese food and, if it's as good as it's press clippings, it will be a welcome added attraction for today's activities. In case you care, Alice and I went over to Estancia yesterday and ate ourselves into oblivion taking advantage of the best darned buffet in town, bar none...I roamed voraciously from hotcakes to specially ordered eggs over well with wonderful canadian style bacon to the usual lineup of fruit and sweets and just about everything this side of the 'kitchen sink'...We even were served a coffee cake finale as a special added attraction, compliments of the management...You know you're in a special place when the boss lady comes over and asks why you weren't there last week and you sputter out the truth and that is I was flat out under the influence of a nasty chest cold...Oh, I might add, Alice sampled just about every native dish offered under the silver domed chafing dishes' lids...She ate so heartily that she couldn't finish one of her special order chorizo and cheese quesadillas and I had to help her out!!! What a guy I am!!!
I must get going now as I have a date with a coffee cup at Vip's and I can't keep this mug waitin'...Have fun watchin' the telly today!!!
Cheerio and adios,
Cliffardo
