Celtic Heartbeat
Can you feel the heartbeat,
Pulsing deep within?
Can you hear the bodhran
A-chantin' Gaelic hymns?
Beating in the mornin'
Again at setting sun,
Joining pipes and voices
When the day is done.
Rappin' on the goatskin,
With knuckles old and worn,
Lending feet a-tappin'
And conjurin' a storm!
With twists and turns to capture,
Like a Celtic knot,
My soul does feel the rapture
Of the piper's thought…
Uilleann pipes a' beggin'
Come and join the throng…
Come and feel the heartbeat
Of my Celtic song!

Hola all you expatriate patriots,
How wonderful it was to be filling the Whirlpool this morning and hear the pump in the garage go on when it was supposed to...Life here is a lesson in simplicity...The things we always took for granted stateside are daily adventures here...The Little House on the Prairie revisited...Instead of worrying about whether the new global positioning system in the Maserati is working, we worry about the basics like water and electricity and love and happiness...People here don't have time to sweat the small stuff as they are too busy just making those elusive ends meet...The 'readin', writin' and arithmetic' type of basics are really what makes life workable...Life and Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness was and still is universal but life SOTB has little time for frills...I feel like a modern day pioneer here and I love it...I missed the first boat that my Grandfather was able to take up to Nome, Alaska during the 'gold rush' but I now can be Jeremish Johnson all over again, trappin' water instead of beaver and hunter-gathering the old fashioned way everyday...I wouldn't have missed this trip for anything...My adrenalin never stops pumping hereabouts in Tepiclandia and I love the ongoing high!!!
Well Alice and I hit the jackpot yesteray for comida over at a new eatery called 'Jalisco' at 511B Revolucion Social...Carnitas are the house speciality and if you order half a kilo of pork carne for two I guarantee you that you will bring some home as the servings are huge...The salsas are wonderful and plentiful and the tortillas hot and fresh and the shredded cabbage and onion mix make for a great mixture for those tortillas to wrap around the perfectly cooked and moist piggie...Total cost, except for propina, is 85 pesos (incuding two soft-drinks) and worth twice the price...This is what eating 'mexican style' is all about...A simple presentation of plenty of great tasting food in a nice setting for a fair price...100 pesos well spent, trust us!!! If you like pork, try it, you'll like it!!!
I guess this is the time when I should think about getting out and over to Vip's as I feel a cuppa Joe comin' on...I hope that all our listening audience has a simply marvelous day!!!
Cheerio for now,
Cliffardo
