Hola all you expatriate patriots,
Well, well, I have just finished reading eight Birthday cards that I received from Alice and ChaChi and little Luke on this auspicious morning when I am officially a day older...According to my mother I was born at 10:15 in the morning...A little late for coffee but that's another story...I understand that I am being taken out to lunch by my queen for a birthday comida at El Quincho today and I'm already salivating at the thought of the big steak I will soon be devouring...The way to this man's heart is with a juicy tender steak, or rock-salted extra-cut prime rib of course, but that, once again, is another story!!! Today it will be steak!!! I was even told that I would not be hangin' out the washed clothes today because a birthday is also a day of rest for the main participant...I'll go along with that...
Yesterday Alice decided that we should stay at home for our daily comida and she made some great looking ministrone soup (more like a stew from where I was sittin'.) for herself whilst I had hot-dogs flanked by macaroni and potato salads...I alway love hot-dogs!!! Now you might ask why I didn't have the ministrone as well and the reason is that there was just enough leftover marinara pasta (tortiglioni) from Sunday's comida to make one nice sized bowl of ministrone, helped out by additional additives, and Alice is nuts about anything that resembles an Italian spread whilst I go nuts over hot-dogs and those old tried and true picnic salads...It's called 'split sharing'...Makes for a long and happy partnership...Chocolate cake was the dessert of choice as we still had a lot of Gail's cake left to use as the daily culinary capper...Can't waste anything that good!!!
I will be over at Vip's as usual for coffee this morning and you need not worry about bringin' a birthday gift if you decide to come on over...Your presence on this special day will be gift enough...AWWWW GEEE!!!
