Hola Debra and Glen.
In Tepic almost every rental will allow pets so let that be the least of your concerns...This community is very pet friendly and we have had at least two furballs at all times and even up to three until our 26 year old cat Sam went to the happy hunting ground...We have had three separate rentals in these 9 going on 10 years living here in Tepiclandia...
Alice and I have lived all year around here for over 9 years and the summer heat is very manageable with just ceiling fans taking care of whatever that lucky ole sun throws at us...Compared to the coast the humidity here at 3000ft is not a big deal...Some of the people living on the coast split their year because of the summer heat but not many here that I know of save for a few who would probably be going back and forth anyway...We've been back to California for two days in all these years...Our kids and grandkids live in Scotland and their weather is really something to leave home about...Cuylar is right about the one year lease although you might be able to find something for less but it won't be easy unless you would take something that might not measure up to those minimum standards you desire...You definitely don't have to buy a home to house the dogs however...
