As I used to hollar, when I was young and working myself stiff, "yippee!!!, yahoo!!!, hooray!!!, it's Friday, thank goodness"!!!
Hola all ye expatriate patriots,
First of all let us face northward and toast all those Tillie and Tad the toilers as they head in to that ole stateside timeclock today to pick up that paycheck one more time...We couldn't live the good life SOTB without those deductions keeping the US of A solvent...Bless you and keep you fit for work until your time comes to make like a pigeon and fly the stateside coop...The dictionary lists pigeons as any of various birds of the widely distributed family Columbidae, characteristically having plump bodies, small heads, and short legs...Sounds like some of the male shoppers at the Thursday LaPenita flea market...JaJaJaJaJa...Just kiddin'...Lots of border promotion types there in their knobby kneed bermudas...Ole sergeants calling themselves colonels with a can of Bud in hand before opening time...Sounds like the sergeants that looked out after my welfare when I was a junior birdman in the USAF...I would have been a staff-sergeant if I had re-enlisted in 1959 but I wanted to get back to California and the old folks at home...Anybody over 35 was considered old then, now they are babies...Alice's dentista looks like he just graduated from high school...In the Neverending Story, the rocks talk...If I'd of been born a rock, I wouldn't have looked any different after all these few years I have been here still trying to find the meaning of life...Just kiddin' again!!! Love and family is the meaning of life in a nutshell and, coming from a long line of nut growers, I know my nutshells...
As it's Friday, I have once again stripped the beds and washed everthing I could find that needed washing and that included me by way of a shower as well...I am about to go out and hang a few sheets and mattress pads and other assorted signs of life if you are interested...
Yesterday Alice and I ventured forth to Venencia for our daily frenchbread dipped in olive oil and spinach backed greek salads con pollo and had a very satisfying meal...As far as greek salads with grilled chicken strips go, these are of a super, class 'AA' variety...We have now adjusted our caloric intake in the hopes that we shall return to our normal waistlines soon now that the holiday gluttony is kaput...
I will soon venture forth to Vip's for my early one-man morning coffee klatch...I hope that you drop by one day soon as the end of college football as we know it is just three bowl games away and seems worthy of some professional assessment time at this time and Vip's place...I'm happy that my USC and Cal came through...Oh those sturdy Golden Bears...How about some of those 'fight songs' ???
California
"Fight for California"
Our sturdy Golden Bear is watching from the sky
Looks down upon our colors fair
And guards us from his lair
Our banner Gold and Blue
The symbol on it too
Means Fight! for California
For California through and through.
Stalwart girded for the fray
Will strive for victory
Their all at Mater's feet will lay
That brain and brawn will win the day.
Our mighty sons and true
Will strive for us anew
And Fight! for California
For California through and through.
USC
"Fight On"
Fight on for ol' SC,
Our men fight on to victory.
Our Alma Mater dear
Looks up to you,
Fight on and win
For ol' SC
Fight on to victory
Fight on!
Cheerio for now,
Cliffardo
