Hola all you members of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Livin' the Good Life SOTB or SPELG for short,
How are you??? I am fine!!! This introduction was the body of early letters that my mother made me write after receiving $5.00 or socks from a distant Aunt i.e. "Dear Aunt Arlo, How are you??? I am fine??? Thank you for the socks"...Yours Truly, Cliffie...I was selfishly wishing at that the time that it would have been $5:00 bucks...I learned early on that good things came in little envelopes carrying the green!!!
It is a bonnie day today here in Tepiclandia and the roosters are crowing and some weird bird with a sore throat is chirping up on my roof...I have done the wash and am about to hang my duds high for all to see...Once again, the smell of Grandmother making apple pies lingers in the air as a result of another apple-cinnamon incense stick glowing in the living room...
I only found one western yesterday on the tele and watched it even though 'Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid' (1973) with James Coburn as Sheriff Pat Garrett and Kris Kristofferson as William H. Bonney (Billy the Kid) and Bob Dylan as Alias was a real bushel of corn...Times are desperate when that's all there is...Would have preferred 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' for the 11,000th time...I wonder if New England will become the second NFL team to have an umbeated season??? Maybe asking this question will jinx them!!! Hope so!!!
About noon Alice fixed us what might be referred to as an indoor picnic with an El Globo baguette halved lengthwise and made into six toothpicked sections of deliciously made albacore tunafish sandwiches sided by sweet pickles, Greek and Italian olives and Ruffles potato chips...Simple but sometimes simplicity can be beautiful as long as it isn't Danish furniture...Nutty (almonds and pecans and et-cetera nuts all over the place) ice cream from Holanda was the dessert of choice and, of course, ChaChi and little Luke made out like bandits under the table what with their chicken breast and all...
Hope to see ya at Vip's today as comradery and early morn coffee are soul mates, mate!!!
Cheerio and adios,
Cliftonardo
