Hola!
I am hoping someone will be able to help me with a few questions I have about the Tepetiltic lake area.
We recently spent a week in Mexico in the old town section of Puerto Vallarta. The highlight of our trip was a trip to the botanical gardens outside of the city. We just fell in love with the mountains and streams and the quiet. We realized then a quiet, off the touristy path type trip is by far more our speed.
Upon leaving we flew over what I now know to be Tepetiltic Lake. I was amazed by it and took a picture from the plane window then spent quite a bit of time researching trying to find out where this place was. Part of that research brought me to this board.
My friend and I would absolutely LOVE to visit that area. We would even be interested in hiking and camping there, but I can't find too much information about the area. Here are some of the questions I have: 1.) what is the best way to
get there? We are from the US. Would it be best to fly into Guadalajara? And then from there should we rent a car? take a bus?
2.)Is it safe to hike/camp in that area?
3.) Is it best to hire a guide?
4.)What type of lodging other than camping is
available in that area?
5.) What other similar sites may interest us in the
area?
6.) Where can I find information in English about the area...etc.
I am sure I can think of more questions but, I'll
start there. :)
