Posted by Cliff Yes we do eat out quite a bit and, yes, it is 'possible' to live on $1000 but you would have to button down the hatches and live frugaly...The definitive word is 'possible'!!! I assume that when you say, "our plan", that you are talking about $1000 for two??? Maybe consider an apartment as well??? The cost of living has gone up some in the last 8 years but no more than anywhere else...We eat out because we like to get out...Alice loves to try different places...You can eat out for under 100 pesos each time or you can easily spent 300 pesos...My concerns would be the other things such as medical coverage, automobile expense and what kind if in-home entertainment, i.e. TV and a computer do you require, etc...You don't want to wind up a captive of a peso shortage...I think it is good that your lifestyle doesn't require eating out a lot as you can save a lot eating at home if you shop for foodstuffs accordingly...Tepic is a capital city with a population of over 300,000...Big but feels smaller than big if you catch my drift...
