Posted by Cliff You see on Friday you can work with a smile. And generous it is as morning treats can attest. Friday isn’t all treats and happy things. So join with me and laugh and cheer. I've something to say about this T G I F Day though, "Yahoo!!!" "Whoopie!!!" "Yippee!!!" "Hooray!!!".... Hola all you expatriate patriots, Another week is up the creek and another interlude with the tube is in sight...Let's pause for a minute of silence for all of those stateside worker bees still punchin' in and out around the ole timeclock and give thanks for all those payroll deductions that keep retirees the world over livin' the good life...Keep up the good work and we'll keep a candle in the window for ye laddies and lassies as your turn will come sooner than you think!!! I have done my Friday bed strippin' and have a full load of linens and clothing a swashing and washing in the Whirlpool as we speak...Soon we will hang everything high with the hopes that they soon will be dry...I have shaved, showered, trimmed and spritzed and have even put on my gringo uniform, no bermudas allowed, and am ready to take on this day...I say no bermudas allowed as I refused to wear shorts when I was a kid and I still refuse to this day...I personally think that pants were meant to cover the whole leg when in comes to fashion for the gents...Now you ladies can wear shorts all day and that's just fine with me...I won't say, "the shorter the better" as I don't want to fall in the 'dirty ole man' category either...I'll just straddle from the saddle, fences that is!!! Yesterday, Alice and I returned to Cantones..China and had a packet #3 and enjoyed it very much...Number 3 has lots of seafood in it with shrimp and squid and little octopussies all throughtout the chow mein and fried rice and such...Even some battered shrimp disguised as shrimp-sized empanadas...I must admit that seafood is not my favorite but Alice loves her seafood and sometimes we have to be fair and consider others...As long as I have oriental hot-mustard and seafood cocktail sauce by my side, I can get by just like Heinz on meatloaf...A quart of ketchup on a meatloaf and they're all good!!! Now, to save my bottom, let me say that Alice's meatloafs are always good so I rarely drown them in ketchup but her 'loafs' are more like roasted ground-round symphonies cooked to a queen's turn and standing on their own!!! I do give thanks to H.J. Heinz though for making food palatable through condimentation!!! Saved many a meal out for we traveling salesmen when meatloafing was the special at Mel's Doggie Diner... I will soon skidattle out of here and walk over to Vip's and I hope that maybe today will be the day when you will be able to join in the fun as well on this fine TGIF day!!! Come one, come all!!! Cheers, Cliffardo

Friday is most certainly the greatest of days.
The reasons it’s great are too many to say.
But with that said I’ll try to explain
Why Friday is better than a day without rain.
You need only work for a little while.
For the weekend is near and then you can play.
Much fun to be brought by this most generous day.
The cream filled donuts are definitely the best.
But don’t dare forget the bagels are good too.
If there’s none in your office, that’s too bad for you.
There is but one obstacle the day does bring.
And that, my friend, is the slowing of time.
But if you can bare it, you’ll do just fine.
The work week’s end is drawing near.
Join with me and praise this day.
I’ve said what I’ve said and I’ve nothing more to say.
