Posted by Cliff on 9/16/2007, 6:13 am Your light still lingers in our distant morning, Happy Independence Day Mexico!!! Hola all you expatriate patriots, Another Sunday, another day to celebrate my USC team who ran over Nebraska and my Cal team who did the same over Louisiana Tech...UCLA got blasted by a Utah team who are lookin' mighty good!!! Two out of three??? I'll take it!!! Thanks Michigan for trouncing Notre Dame...I love it when those who think that they are supreme beings get spanked...What goes around comes around... I am up and feelin' good enough to consider whether I want toast with my coffee or should I wait and get a couple of donuts at El Globo!!! Oh, go whole hog!!! Ya only live once and I have lived about 8-lives worth with gusto so why quit now...Yes, I have started a wash and it is almost finished...Soon it will be flappin' in the breeze!!! Yesterday Alice and I decided to heat up the leftover chinese food and it was reborn even better that it was initially thanks to the additives that Alice placed within!!! More chorizo, green onions, bean sprouts and pan dried noodles and other herbs and spices that remain a secret to avoid the paraparazzi from trying to profit from Alice's god-given 3-star culinary talent...I am a lucky man!!! I will soon be over at Vip's and would love to see you before the games begin, NFL that is!!! Cheerio and adios, Cliffardo

To those who died giving us life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness...We salute you:
A star that we perceive across the void.
We chart our passage by your words, still burning
Long after your bright core has been destroyed.
No longer do we speak of "natural" rights,
Nor can we think that reason guides our will.
We've been through far too many gruesome nights
To hope we have reduced our lust to kill.
Yet hope remains the engine of our fire,
Hope that someday all of us will be
Happy in the least that we require:
Well-fed, well-housed, safe, secure, and free.
This dream we still pursue. Though darkness come,
Your wisdom, hope, and courage through us run.
