This week is 80% in the history books and today marks the beginning of the last stretch...It's also Alice's Birthday so it is a very special day...Little did I know when I was a kid playing hide and seek in Stockton, California that there was a little girl running around Sacramento who would change my life forever more...I am a lucky man!!! Hola all you expatriate patriots, I'm up doing my Friday stuff which entails a lot of bed strippin' and clothes washing and getting ready for the housekeeper and making myself presentable for those walking around out in the wide, wide world...Yesterday at coffeetime at Vip's I had the pleasure of Joe's company and he asked me a very personal question, "why do you wash so often"??? and I gave him my mother's answer, "because it's there"!!! Mother always said, "don't put off until tomorrow what could be done today and that way your piles will all be little and that made sense to me amigos...My life has since been a bunch of little piles and I have been able to skiptoe across them with relative ease...I put off climbing mountains until there's a flyrod in my hand marked 'for trout only'... I finally was able to get Alice over to Marlin's for comida as it was on Alice's pre-birthday wish list but it took a cabbie (parking in the area is atrocious) to get us there but well worth the $5.00 roundtrip, tip included...We had a delicious seafood assortment consisting of shrimp empanandas and seafood tostados and such!!! While I am not much of a seafood guy, I must admit that this was a very good meal and I would do it again...I'm still suspect of a restaurant that has no prices on it's menu but that's another story...Marlin's is a fun place to be and see and be seen!!! Alice also wants me to add that it's very reasonable pricewise...You can tell it's one of her favorites...I wonder what is next in line on the birthday girl's wish list??? During 'Birthday week', I gain about one stone (equal to 14 pounds avoirdupois and 6.35029318 kg.)...It's the .35029318 kg that gets ya!!! I will soon be over at Vip's and I hope that today I will see your smiling face over there as well...Come join in the fun!!! Cheerio for now, Cliffardo
