I was in Amsterdam during the election, and foolishly thought that I could escape the madness. No way. The election was more closely followed overseas than in the US. And after it was over, you can't believe all the congrats I got.
Don't blame me, I'd tell them. I voted for Romney.
By the way, TA, I was in San Fran last year. Still one of my favorite cities in the world. Bought my 50th anniversary edition of On the Road at City Lights, and everything.
