Posted by Mo [Justin & Angela in the office] Justin [looking at Angela sign all the shipment papers from UPS, thinking]: She’s cute…I think I might like working out here in South Beach. Angela [finished signing all the shipment papers]: Thank you. UPS Man: You’re welcome. Looks like you have a lot of work to do, today. Angela: Yeah. I have plenty of helpers too. So I have it all taken care of. Justin: You ready, Angela? Angela: Yep. Let’s get started [walks to the stock room to get a hand truck]. We might need this though… Justin: How many of those do we have? Angela: I think we have 4 of them. There’s 2 more in the office that I know of. Justin: Ok, I’ll go back and get the other one [walks into the stock room to get the other hand truck]. Ok, here we go. Ready? [They lift the boxes and put them on the hand trucks and took them back to the stock room] Jen: How are you guys doing? David: Y’all need some help? Angela: I think we got it. We have 70 more out there right now. There’s 2 more hand trucks in the office. If you want to help you can. But I really need is to put some rolling racks together along with hangers. Jessica: Well, here’s 20 boxes of hangers, tops and bottoms. I’ll put the racks together for you. That’s easy. I think we have 50 of those. How’s it going outside? Justin: Really good. There are customers all over the place. We might pull 50 grand tonight. Angela: Are you sure we can pull that much? Justin: Yeah, we can’t keep merchandise on the floor that long. You should know how the customers are here in this store. We should be able to knock the transfers out of the way in like 3 hours. The hard part is processing the shipment. We gotta sensor everything. [Jessica, David, Melissa, and Jen get the racks together so Justin and Angela could get started. Angela starting scanning the boxes into the system and Justin started processing the shipment] MV: Well, there’s a lot of movement goin on in here… Jen: Oh, hey, Carlos. What are you doing here? Carlos: Looks like you could use some help, am I lying? Jen: No actually, I was on my way out because I have an interview in about 25 minutes. So I need to go but you can help everyone else. You don’t work today, do you? Carlos: No but I told Angela I would take her to lunch too so that’s what I’m here to do. Angie, you want me to pick it up for you? Angela: That’s fine. You know what I want? Carlos: Of course I do. You want a full rack of ribs, a loaded baked potato, and of course the Spinach Dip with extra sour cream. Angela: You know me better than I thought… Carlos: Of course. Anyone else want anything? Everyone: No. Justin: Where are you going? Carlos: Houston’s in North Miami Beach. Justin: They do take out? Carlos: Not to my knowledge but I know peeps over there plus I know the GM. Justin: Oh, nice… [Carlos leaves to get Angela’s food and everyone continues to work] Jen: Ok, my children, I have to leave for my interview. I’m excited about it. I have the feeling this one is it. I hope I’m right about it. I mean, I make pretty good decisions about my management, right? Justin: I think so. It seems like you have a bangin staff here. I like them already. David: I love this staff. Everyone is mad cool and we all work as a team. So it’s all good. Jen: Well, that’s good to know. I appreciate that very much. I’ll see y’all in about an hour [she leaves on her way to her interview]. [At the Macaroni Grill in North Miami Beach] *There’s a male sitting at the table by himself waiting for someone else. He has ordered a glass of wine for himself and has started on the bread* FV: Hi, I’m Jennifer. You must be Benn. Benn: That’s me. How are you? Jen: I’m fine. It’s nice to meet you. Benn: I’m glad you could join me for lunch. Jen: Well thank you for having me. I’ve never had an interview like this before. This is very different, nice though. Benn: Well, I thought I should have an interview like this that way we can both relax and you can get a chance to see the real me. It’s weird but I always show the real me when food is involved. Jen: That’s different but I understand what you’re saying because my husband is like that too. Benn: Are you Hispanic? Jen: I’m ½ Cuban and ½ Italian. Benn: Interesting mix. I’m Pilipino but I was born in Cali. Jen: You look like a California boy. You actually look like a Hollister/Abercrombie boy. Benn: I get that a lot. Jen: Did you order yet? Benn: No, I was waiting for you. Jen: Oh, well, in that case, I’ll let you order for me. You name it, I’ll eat it. Benn: Ok… [gets waiter’s attention and begins to order] How does Penne Rustica sound? Jen: That’s my favorite dish here. Benn: Perfect. I’ll take 2 of those. Waiter: Ok, coming right out. Would you like more wine? More bread? Benn: Um, water, and more bread. Jennifer, you want something? Jen: Um, let me have some Strawberry Tea, please. Waiter: I’ll get that right away for you. Jen: Thank you. So Benn, what made you look into Guess? Benn: Well, I wanted to work here for a while now. I see that it’s a booming company. The clothes are hot, the people that work there are beautiful, and it looks like a fun place to work. As you can see, I dress like I’m going out all the time [wearing a pair of light blue boot cut Guess jeans, a Guess plaid blue short-sleeve oxford, and a white Guess tank top underneath. Was he trying to make a good impression or what? Kissin mad butt!!!]. Jen: I can see you wear our clothes. That’s points. Benn: Why thank you. I wear them at my other job too. My closet’s full of Guess clothes. They fit me really well. Jen: Well, what’s it like at your other company? Benn: Well, working at Forever 21; it’s interesting. I like it because I like the people I work with but the pay sucks. I mean, I pull huge sales and hours but I’m not getting recognized for my work. So I wanted something different. Jen: Well, we could offer that. What makes you think we would want you at Guess? Benn: I’m glad you asked that [pulls out his sales sheet for the past year]. Is this enough proof? Jen: Impressive… [looks over his sales sheet] I like you…you’re in. I knew I had a good feeling about you. I think you would work well with my staff here in South Beach. When can you start? Benn: As soon as we finish eating, if you want. Jen: Perfect. I can’t wait until you meet the staff. They’ll love you! [They finish eating and head back to the store] Angela: Well, everything is processed, the shipment has been scanned into the computer. Now, we need to pull all the rest of the old merchandise and put it in these boxes and send these bad boys away to the factory. Justin: Ok. How many boxes you think this is going to take? Angela: Maybe 60. No more than that. We pack everything in there neatly, we should be fine. David: I’ll start pulling the rest of the clothes from the floor. Jessica: I’ll help. [Jen walks into the stock room] Angela: Well, how was your interview? Jen: Wonderful. Say hi to your new Assistant Manager…Benn Easton… Benn [walks into the office with Jen, Angela, and Justin]: Hi guys… Angela: OMG… ~*~Ok, so what’s wrong with Angela? Find out next time~*~![]()
