*Kareem is laying in the bed listening to Case’s “Missing You” in the dark. He held a picture of Nicole and him at the Open Gym Tournament in his hand. He could remember he great time they had together at the after party. Case continued to linger in his ears*
[Case singing: “Like a cold summer afternoon, like the snow coming down in June, like a wedding without a groom, I’m missing you. I’m the desert without the sand, you’re the woman without a man, I’m the ring without a hand, I’m missing you…”]
Kareem *thinking* I gotta get her back…
[Phone rings]
Kareem: Hi Shayla.
Shayla: Hi baby! What are you doing?
Kareem: Laying in the bed. What’s up?
Shayla: Nothing, just wanted to hear your voice. I need to talk to you Kareem…
Kareem: What is it?
Shayla: I’m getting tired of putting my all in this relationship and I’m not getting anything back. I mean, I call you, you don’t answer. You’re never home and you don’t say I love you back…
Kareem: What did I tell you about that?
Shayla: But what would I do to hurt you Kareem? You said you don’t wanna tell me that because you’re afraid you’ll get hurt. I haven’t done anything to really hurt you.
Kareem: What about that time you went to the beach with your ex? What the hell was that?
Shalya: Well, it happened…
Kareem: Bullshit! You did that on purpose. You knew better…*cell phone rings* Hold on. My cell’s ringing… *picks up his cell phone* Hello?
Male Voice: Kareem?
Kareem: Yeah, who’s this?
MV: It’s Marcus man…
Kareem: Oh, whatÂ’s up? I’m on the phone with Shayla. Can I call you back?
Marcus: Actually, I called to talk to you about her…
Kareem: Well, can it wait?
Marcus: No, actually, it can’t.
Kareem: Aight, make it quick man…
Marcus: Aight, well, you know you my boy and e’rything but I hate to tell you this man…
Kareem: Tell me what, Marcus?
Marcus: I seen your old lady all hugged up on the next nigga in the movies the other night.
Kareem *shocked*: Who was she with?
Marcus: Man, I think it was Tyrell. I was with Jessica when it happened.
Kareem *thinking* How could she do this to me? Then again, I screwed up too…but if she loved me like she says she does, why would she cheat? I never said I loved her. I just told her that I cared *outloud* You sure that was her?
Marcus: Yeah, I’m positive. I hate to tell you this man.
Kareem: Naw, good lookin out man. Ima holla at you later. I got her on the phone, remember?
Marcus: No doubt. Handle your business…
Kareem *gets back on the phone with Shayla*: Ok, I now have something to say to you…
Shayla: Sure, honey…
Kareem: Don’t honey me…You were all hugged up on Tyrell the other night at the movies, weren’t you?
Shayla *thinking* Oh my God! How did he find out about that? Nobody saw me… *outloud* How did you find out about that?
Kareem: Marcus saw you. He and Jessica are an item now and they saw the same movie you and Tyrell did. I got eyes all over the place, Shayla…
Shayla: Now, Kareem, there’s a perfectly good explanation for all of this…
Kareem: Save it! It’s over! I want ALL my shit back when you get home!
Shayla *beginning to cry*: Kareem…
Kareem: NO! I don’t want to hear it! You told me you loved me…bullshit! *slammed the phone down*
*Kareem lays in the bed, almost in tears and thinks he couldn’t believe he lost 2 women. What was he gonna do? What was he going to do to get a least one of them back?The one that actually wanted the chance to love him has walked away. What was he going to do to get her back?*
