FV: Adam, you know we have to get all those files done and processed. Adam: Ryan will you make sure that all the paper work is done, please? Ryan: Sure. Just remember that we need to get those files done. I don’t want to have to come in here on my day off tomorrow and fix all the stuff that one of your co-workers messed up. You know which one I’m talking about… Adam: Look, she’s still here. I would advise you to wait until she leaves to say anything. Ryan: Well, come back here in the drive up and we shall talk about it back there. Adam: Look, off the record, I don’t think she has anything against you… Ryan: Look, we will talk about this later… [In the break room] FV [on the phone]: You know it’s just like her to be the way she is…I can’t stand her. For whatever reason or another, she thinks she’s the manager. I can’t believe she acts the way she does. Someone needs to put her in her place. Maybe I should do it… MV [on the other end of the phone]: Lisa, honey, she’s not all that bad. She seems nice to me. Lisa: You need to understand something though…she’s like that to your face but she’s probably talking about me right now. MV: …just like you’re talking about her right now? Lisa: You’re not helping. You’re supposed to be on my side, not hers. MV: Listen honey, all I’m saying is give her a chance. She’s been there almost as long as you have so why are you acting like this now? If it bothers you that much why don’t you say something to her about it? Lisa: Because, I do happen to like her it’s just that she seems to get all the praise when it comes to everything. Clearly, my performance is better than hers so why is everyone so in love with her? MV: I’m not sure. I think you should get off the phone and get back to work before you get in trouble. Lisa: Ok, I love you… MV: I love you too. See you when you get home. [Back out on the floor] Ryan: Is everything else done? Sherry: Yes. I closed out my drawer and put all the bags together. Am I ok to go home? Adam: Sure. If you’re all done, you may go. Have a good night. Be safe. [Sherry goes in the back to hear Lisa on the phone with someone. She didn’t quite catch who she was talking about but she figured it had to be someone. But like the quiet little person she is, she didn’t bother to find out either. Sherry knew how to keep herself out of trouble] Lisa [walking back into the lobby where the rest of her co-workers were]: Is everyone done, because I have things to do and being here isn’t one of them… Adam [thinks to himself]: Can she be any more arrogant than she already is? Ryan [reading his mind and responding to what he was thinking]: Yes, she actually can, believe it or not. Adam: Great minds think alike? How did you know? Ryan: I just know…now let’s get her out of here. Adam: With pleasure. I’m tired of her whining anyhow…Um, Lisa, you can go home now. Lisa: But I’m not done with… Adam: Don’t worry about it. I will take care of it later. Bye…[politely shoves her out of the door]. Ryan: I thought she would never leave. Thank you. Adam: You’re welcome.
