You need to watch season's 7 Selfless to understand the trauma in her past that led to her attitude (may not be a good idea if you don't like spiders though!). Yes there are several references made to Anya's fear of bunnies throughout the series. the Halloween one already mentioned and once more with feeling to name 2 that immediatly spring to mind.
