I recently bought an old victorian home at 1825 Washington Ave in Waco, and know that J.L. Whitworth bought the property in 1897 and it was in his family (wife Nevada, children James W. Whitworth and Bessie May Sparks) I think until possibly 1941. Trying to locate pics of the house in the early years (built in 1896 we think), or pictures of the Whitworths. Other family names that seem to be connected are Sparks, Pauling, or Cox. Also C.C. Gross and wife Mary owned it for a brief time in 1940. John G. Duffield owned the property from 1895 to 1897 so wondering if he was the architect or contractor who built the house.
