My dad was born in Ashland Neb. on July 17, 1915. He is a twin. Her name was Glendora. He also had a sisters named Hazel,Pearl,Nettie, Bertha( called Dolly). His brothers I can remember are Robert, John Albert, George Edward, thats all of them I can remember. I do know that George died when he was around 18. Also that my grandpa was born between 1850 and 1880, thats not much. my grandma was born in the late 1880's. Her name was Martha Anna ( Saunders,or Sanders). I also do know that my grandpa liked to travel. I don't know what he did for work, maybe a salesman because of all the traveling I don't know.

: Thank you, Glenn, for your information. I
: think that my grandfather, Marvin McCartney,
: was born in the 1880s or 1890s. I know that
: he had brothers and sisters, but I do not
: know any of their names except for one
: sister named Hazel (McCartney) Anderson. I
: do have some letters sent to me about 15
: years ago by Hazel in which she shared some
: of the McCartney history. I am currently
: trying to locate these letters; they are in
: storage. To the best of my recollection, she
: specifically mentioned a John McCartney!! I
: am certain that I remember that name. Do you
: know any of John's history? Hazel told me an
: interesting tale about a John McCartney
: coming to America on a boat, and the boat
: sank near the shore. Supposedly he rescued a
: woman from drowning. When I locate her
: letters, I will certainly share all the
: information with you. Do you know when any
: of your relatives may have immigrated to the
: U.S.? Do you know what towns in Nebraska
: they lived in? Unfortunately, I do not know
: the names of Marvin's mother or father (my
: great-grandparents). It looks as if your
: grandfather, John, could have been born some
: time in the late 1800s. That is so
: interesting. Could John and Marvin have
: possibly been brothers??? You know, there
: really aren't that many McCartneys; I've
: never met another one in my 52 years on
: earth! Do you know the name of the town in
: which your dad was born? I will definitely
: share all information that I find with you!
: Thank you so much for your response.
