There's been some discussion on here about smoking Mores in public (by guys) and what other's might think seeing a man smoking a More. For the most part I smoke Mores in public though will alternate with Bneson and Hedges menthol sometimes too.
Last night I was in Memphis on business and I have a lady friend I used to date who lives there. She's professional in the marketing field, and just turned 50 years old and she's about 7 years older than I. While We dated sometime ago but basically are just friends for the last 4 years. So last night we met for dinner and after our meal, I took out a More. I knew she smoked "socially" years ago...but didn't offer her one..She then asked me for a "puff or two". Feigning I might have the beginnings of a cold, I said why don't you just have one yourself and gave her a More menthol and lit it for her. She had on tight brown gloves and she walked and smoked her More for a few blocks seemed to enjoy her More until it went out..She said to me, "Oh I think I am not smoking it right..it went out!"
I laughed and I said don't worry they do that all the time and lit her up again. She then asked me what kind of cigs these were..and non chalantly I said they are called Mores..and all she said was "wow..interesting..I like them". She didn't say oh these are fetish cigarettes, or only woman smoke these , or men look silly smoking these..and mind you this woman is basically the prime age (give or take) for a More smoker or at least to have been exposed to More ads back the 70s-late 80s. And I actually found out she was more than a social smoker years ago...so it's not like she was an anti..and probably was a regular smoker in the 80s though I didn't know her back then.
So back to last night..My woman friend and I walked to a movie theater each smoking our More menthol. At the end of the movie we went for coffee and after coffee she asked for one last cigarette before she headed to her apartment...She said she was being bad smoking but she seemed to enjoy it..we did kiss a bit as I liked the taste of the More on her lips but we didn't sleep together or anything remotely close..just kissing between friends and she did taste very sweet I will say. Will she go back to smoking? Who knows? Did she think my cigs where feminine?NO Did she think they were interesting and unique--yes for sure. And since RJR no longer advertises the brand I think that's what most people probably think about them today..interesting, unique, different..
So if you are a guy and worried about smoking a More in public ...there's really very little to worry about.
What I am trying to say is that us "More fans" can hypersensitive" about our liking or fetish and most of think that others think as we do and it's simply not the truth. I guarantee that 98% of people who see a guy smoking a More think little of it. First unless it's freshly lit and long it basically looks like a clove or just a dark cigarette. If it's freshly lit I get asked all the time if it's a cigar.
So that's my 2 cents..I may start posting more here...no pun intended.
