RJR has specified on a few different occasions that they would continue to market More (but not support it with any marketing or on-going brand research) here in the U.S. However, all good things must come to an eventual end, and I cannot imagine RJR will keep it alive forever. I'm sure you can probably count the number of new daily More smokers in the U.S. on one hand, whereas the number leaving the brand of quitting smoking all together must be in the low hundreds each day.
They had some market research that indicated 1981 was the peak year for the brand at about 1.5% of the market. It's actually very impressive for a niche brand. Since then though, the numbers are in serious decline, and I doubt they even register.
I have quit (three years ago), my ex quit five years ago, and most other smokers who smoked Mores regularly years ago do not any more. Hate to say it, but it's the unfortunate sign of the times here.
