All you need to do is check that box that says "Kill null samples at the beginning"? I just confirmed that if you don't have that box checked Winamp hangs... but after I unchecked it the audio from my RM video files were quickly converted to WAV files.
This has nothing to do with any "Compatibility Issues".

: Hi everyone:
: I have just installed the latest plugin into Winamp 5 (5.21
: to be exact) cause I have some vids in Real format I'd like
: to encode in .AVI or at least MP3 format.
:
: HOWEVER when I load the video in Winamp (after selecting
: the plugin for the input and the disk writer plugin for the
: output), Winamp just sits there looking dumb at me when I
: click play to begin the decoding process.
:
: I have the RealOne Player BUT I also have the Media Player
: Classic, which has the neccessary G2 components. MPC also
: plays the videos without any problems. I don't want to
: downgrade to G2 because I have uses for RealOne (Despite
: the fact it's known to be spyware).
:
: The settings in tara.ini and configuration BTW are the
: default settings. Nothing has been changed there.
:
: Any suggestion as to what I might try to get this thing
: working? Are there any other plugins or applications that
: might work better or are more compatible with the Winamp
: 5.x series?
:
: I'm at the point now whereas MY ONLY hope of getting the
: audio from the vids is if I play them (ONE BY ONE either
: with MPC or RealOne) and record the audio with Cool Edit.
:
: In short....Help?
:
: Cheers
