Winamp 5 Compatibility Issues

Hi everyone:
I have just installed the latest plugin into Winamp 5 (5.21 to be exact) cause I have some vids in Real format I'd like to encode in .AVI or at least MP3 format.
HOWEVER when I load the video in Winamp (after selecting the plugin for the input and the disk writer plugin for the output), Winamp just sits there looking dumb at me when I click play to begin the decoding process.
I have the RealOne Player BUT I also have the Media Player Classic, which has the neccessary G2 components. MPC also plays the videos without any problems. I don't want to downgrade to G2 because I have uses for RealOne (Despite the fact it's known to be spyware).
The settings in tara.ini and configuration BTW are the default settings. Nothing has been changed there.
Any suggestion as to what I might try to get this thing working? Are there any other plugins or applications that might work better or are more compatible with the Winamp 5.x series?
I'm at the point now whereas MY ONLY hope of getting the audio from the vids is if I play them (ONE BY ONE either with MPC or RealOne) and record the audio with Cool Edit.
In short....Help?
