Posted by hj on February 24, 2006, 5:41 pm, in reply to "New shoutcast browser, no 1000 limit" I really don't care for the web based implementation in the new ML shoutcast... it can be done so much better. And it is extremely simplified too! In fact, I can get all the stations with one call... this makes me think that AOL would eventually shut the whole thing down. If this thing is still around in another month or so, then I'll put together a new SCLister.
Thanks for the info Drahken... I can always count on you to deliver the goods. ![]()

: Winamp 5.2 is out, and supposedly contains an updated
: shoutcast browser that removes the 1000 station limit.

: QUOTE: -------------
: The new Shoutcast browser includes ALL available streams
: (currently ~13,000), whereas the old one was limited to
: 1000 max.
:
: The listener count/popularity thing is being done away
: with.
: We want the listener to decide what they like and want to
: hear.
:
: There's options to sort by Name, Bitrate or Type at the top
: of each Genre results.
:
: @ all: Right-click for Enqueue or Play context menu
: (left click defaults to Play, ie. wipes your playlist)

:
: Perhaps SClister can be updated based on that so that it
: too can bypass the 1000 limit.
:
:
: *Note: I'm taking their word for all this. There simply
: isn't anything in 5.2 that makes it worthwhile to me to
: update.
