Very interesting! So much of casting is really luck. When you put an actor into a role, you never really know for sure how it will turn out because there is a chemistry between actors that is inexplicable. When Gloria cast Tony as Luke, she had no clue that that role would take off in the way that it did. She certainly didn't anticipate the chemistry between Tony and Genie. This anti-hero became a protagonist, and the love affair between Scotty and Laura was blown to bits by the chemistry between Tony and Genie. Soaps allow for a certain amount of character growth which is not true for shows like "All in the Family." Writers often follow the lead of a successful character. Tristan once said that the planets aligned when it came to LnL. There's a lot of truth to that.

Recently got to see the All In The Family episode with TG in it. Very entertaining and still timely after all these decades. TG looked very cute, though I might not have recognized him if I hadn't been looking for him. To my surprise both Phil Carey (Asa) and the guy who played Burt Ramsey on GH were also in it. Quite a treat for us longtime soap watchers.
