It is so interesting to me that it happened with Tony and Genie when they were not romantically involved. I watched that old film, "To Have and Have Not" on TV last week. Bogie and Bacall had that chemistry, but they were lovers. By the way, Bacall was really a novice in that role...severely challenged. Somehow, it worked for them, though. There was that unmistakeable sexual tension. That was a part of LnL. They were great!
I've always said that Tony & Genie are both better together than in anything I've seen them do separately. I saw Tony in Murder, She Wrote recently (around 1990). He was ok, but didn't have the spark he does as Luke especially with Genie.
With Genie and Tony"s pic on covers and in articles lately TG has been on my mind. Been watching some old videos like Luke and Laura dancing at Wyndhams and Summer on the Run videos as Lloyd and Lucy Johnson. Those were such feel good memories. With Genie's return I find myself wishing for some Luke and Laura scenes. I want some real closure where they speak of their undying love no matter how many obstacles have been thrown between them. TG doesn't have to stay but I want to hear Luke say those words he promised all those years ago that he would always love Laura. Not Tracy or any of that mature love Crap. Just straight forward love. I'm not a big Laura/Kevin fan. They are sweet but I don't see any passion there. TG could still bring the passion. They still had it in that cabin kiss in 2008. Bottom line is no one had the magic like Tony and Genie. I'd like to see it one more time.
